Despite cooler weather in New York, we're still going strong in our celebrations of all things summery. We launched the first iteration of the Bedford Cheese Shop Cafe + Wine Bar last weekend, and were stoked to see the positive reception by regulars and new faces alike.

This week, we're hosting two tasting tutorials at our Brooklyn shop. Details below!

As always, our tastings are free - plus, you get 10% off if you want to buy the featured products!

Tuesday, July 25: French Cider and Cheese with Rachael

France may be better known for its vast wine production - but the northern and western corners of the country is home to some of the best ciders available. Often made by family-run businesses, these cider makers take their craft seriously, so much so that they insist on using the same size and style of bottle as winemakers.

And they pair gloriously with cheese - a little sweetness, a little effervescence, and a touch of funk. We’ll be tasting them alongside cheeses from throughout France.

And check out this neat woodcut of a 17th century cider press!

Wednesday, July 26: Rosé and Cheese with Charlotte

Whether you sport a Yes Way Rosé tote bag with pride or breeze past the pale pink tints at your local wine shop (erm, Trader Joe’s), we found a rosé that will bring you to your knees. Produced in the Cotes Catalanes region of France, our Domaine de Majas bottles are a perfect blend of Merlot and Syrah grapes. Crisp and refreshing, it is both everything and the only thing we want to drink until the leaves turn orange.

We’re tasting it alongside sheep’s milk cheeses from the neighboring Pyrenées - as the saying goes, what grows together goes together.
